The Program
Authorized by the 1985 Alaska State Legislature, the Alaska Waterfowl Conservation Stamp
program will generate funds for conservation and enhancement of waterfowl resources through
wetland acquisition and related projects.
Sportsmen from 16 to 60 must purchase the $5.00 stamp to hunt ducks & geese in Alaska. The
Alaska Department of Fish & Game will receive a portion of the revenue from the stamp & print
purchase.

Steller's Eiders
James A. Meger is one of
the most popular wildlife artist
of the 1980's . His work is
characterized by unique
compositions of popular
wildlife subjects.
Since his win of the 1980
Minnesota Duck Stamp
contest, Meger's popularity
has been steadily increasing.
In 1985 his career took major
steps forward. He was the
winner of the 1986 Alaska
Duck Stamp Competition along
with the Minnesota Pheasant
Stamp. Jim is the first artist to
win both of Minnesota's major
stamp print contests, the duck
and the pheasant.

Wildlife art is a record of his

Trumpeter Swans
James Beaudoin's work has
been exhibited at many major
shows including the Easton,
Maryland, Waterfowl Festival,
the South Carolina Wildlife
Exposition in Charleston, and
the Minnesota Wildlife
Heritage Foundation Show. He
has had two paintings
accepted into the 1987 Birds-
In-Art Exhibit at the Leigh-
Yawkey Woodson Art
Museum in Wausau,
Wisconsin, one of which was
included in their National Tour.
He is familiar with Duck Stamp
Prints having finished second
in the 1986 Minnesota Duck
Stamp contest and finalist in
various others.

Richard Timm in 1971
decided to devote his
considerable talent to his
former avocation of wildlife art.
Apparently, the decision was a
wise one; within a very few
years of the beginning of his
new career, his prints and
single works are sought after
both by collectors and casual
admirers both for aesthetic
pleasure and investment value.
He's a native of the Detroit
suburb of Lincoln Park and
started his art training at
Meinzinger Art school in
Detroit.
